Each new year brings resolutions, declarations and promises. After all, the start of a new year is about simply that…something new. Whether you’ve made an oath to be healthier, perhaps wealthier or a bit more wise, we’d like to suggest that you add one more resolution into the mix. Locate an “old favorite” jewelry item that you seldom wear anymore and have it reworked into something new. A broken pearl strand can be restrung into a new necklace and updated by adding a modern clasp. Perhaps you have a vintage diamond watch that has not worked for years. Why not remove the movement and make it into a chic and eclectic bracelet? Maybe your jewelry box is a sea of yellow gold from the 1980′s? Consider selling some items for scrap and reinventing the ones that feature gemstones or diamonds. Even forgotten wedding bands can be made into pendants or customized to feature gemstones. The possibilities are endless!
